In addition to SegWit, a new address format has been added to the wallet called bech32. This address format was created by former Blockstream developers. The new format will significantly reduce wallet addresses. Also now there is no difference between lowercase and uppercase letters. This is done to make it easier for users to enter their wallet data and avoid frequent errors. The user can generate a new bech-32 address for himself or stay on the old one.
