Lamborghini unveils the first Sián hybrid supercar

First hybrid supercar Lamborghini Si unveiled at Frankfurt Motor Showán, which will be the most powerful and fastest car of the company.

Despite the partial electrification, in the new model, engineers have focused on performance over sustainability. The coupe is powered by a 785 hp V12 engine.. and 8500 rpm, as well as a 34 hp electric motor, which provides not only immediate response, but also the greatest power among the ever-existing serial Lamborghinis.

Sián accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 2.8 seconds, reaching a top speed of over 350 km / h. Drivers will also notice tangible improvements in agility. In third gear, traction is increased by 10%,  and in higher gears and at lower speeds, the electric motor increases tractive effort by 20%.

The hybrid is notable for its energy storage and recharge technology. Instead of traditional lithium-ion batteries, it is equipped with supercapacitors that are three times more powerful and lighter. This approach allows you to reduce the total weight and completely recharge each time the vehicle brakes. The stored energy provides an instant increase in power, allowing the driver to instantly increase torque when accelerating, up to 130 km / h.

The design shares some similarities with the 2017 Terzo Millennio, including Y-shaped headlights and separate body contours. For the first time, 3D printed parts will be used in the interior.

Despite all the innovative solutions and high power, the Lamborghini Sián still has a drawback. This is not a high price, which has not yet been disclosed, but the fact that the company will release only 63 units of Sián, and they are all already sold.

Recall that in The first electric hypercar Pininfarina Battista was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March, which is capable of developing over 350 km / h, and  in June, the Dutch startup Lightyear presented an electric passenger car that can travel up to 800 km only through the use of solar energy.
